Top Engineering Schools

  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT's School of Engineering is widely considered to be the best engineering school in the world.

  • Stanford University - Stanford University's School of Engineering takes a multidisciplinary, broad-based approach to education.

  • University of California, Berkeley - UC Berkeley is frequently ranked among the best graduate institutions in the world. The school offers a number of high quality engineering and engineering science programs.

  • Georgia Institute of Technology - U.S. News has ranked Georgia Tech's College of Engineering among the top five schools for several years now.

  • University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign - The University of Illinois' College of Engineering is known for providing high-quality engineering education at the departmental level.

  • California Institute of Technology - The California Institute of Technology is consistently ranked among the top engineering schools in the United States.

  • Carnegie Mellon University - Carnegie Mellon's Institute of Technology is the second smallest school on the U.S. News list of top 20 engineering schools. CIT is known for its diversity and interdisciplinary research opportunities.

  • University of Southern California (Viterbi) - The USC Viterbi School of Engineering prides itself on preparing engineers to work with rapidly changing technologies.

  • Cornell University - Cornell University's College of Engineering is known for its practice-oriented approach to engineering education.

  • University of Michigan, Ann Arbor - The University of Michigan College of Engineering is widely recognized as a global leader in engineering education. Nearly all of the school's engineering programs are ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News each year.

  • Top Fine Arts Schools

  • Rhode Island School of Design - Founded in 1877, the Rhode Island School of Design is widely considered to be one of the best fine arts schools in the world.

  • Yale University - The Yale University School of Art offers programs in graphic design, photography, painting/printmaking and sculpture. Graduate students spend most of their time focusing on studio activities.

  • School of the Art Institute of Chicago - Founded in 1866, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest fine arts institutions in the nation. The school offers world class art and design education and is known for having an innovative curriculum.

  • Cranbrook Academy of Art - Cranbrook is well known in the art community and offers a broad portfolio of programs. The school's philosophy is all about creativity and individualism.

  • Maryland Institute College of Art - The Maryland Institute College of Art, better known as MICA, was founded in 1826. It is the oldest degree-granting college of art in the United States and is consistently ranked among the best visual art and design schools.

  • Virginia Commonwealth University - Virginia Commonwealth is known for its outstanding faculty and supportive atmosphere. Students also have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of academic programs.

  • California Institute of the Arts - The California Institute of Arts has a rigorous curriculum, a renowned faculty and numerous opportunities for students to display artwork. Classes are innovative and peer-critiqued.

  • Carnegie Mellon University - Carnegie Mellon University's College of Fine Arts is organized into five schools: Architecture, Art, Design, Drama and Music.

  • University of California, Los Angeles - The Department of Art at UCLA is located in one of the world's leading art centers. The school has a distinguished alumni roster and is known for accepting only the most gifted students.

  • Alfred University - New York State College of Ceramics - The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University is a unique institution that was founded on the study of ceramics and glass. The school has since expanded to educate students in many materials and processes.

The School of Design will not be considering applications for the doctoral program for the 2008-2009 academic year. A decision on accepting applications for the doctoral program for the 2009-2010 academic year is pending.". Esto a pesar de presumir en su página de inicio que "We are also one of very few institutions where you may study for a Ph.D. in Design"... pues vaya que son pocas las opciones: ¡una menos!

Para maestrías las tres opciones son:
    > Communication Planning & Information Design (CPID)
    > Interaction Design (IntD)
    > Master of Product Development (MPD)
